How it all started...
Every great move of God begins with a vision.
In 1997, Apostle Matthew Evans received a clear calling from the Lord to establish a ministry that would bring the light of Christ to the community and transform lives through the power of God’s Word. From that vision, Light of the World Ministries was born.
The early days were humble but powerful. Worship services were held in the basement of an apartment building owned by Apostle Evans. What started as a small gathering quickly became a place where people encountered God, found hope, and experienced life-changing transformation.
As the ministry grew and its message became clearer, the name was later changed to Victorious Life Ministries—a reflection of the truth that through Jesus Christ, we are called to live victorious lives.

Expanding the vision...
As the ministry continued to grow, Victorious Life Ministries moved to its current home in the heart of West Baltimore on Grantley Avenue, becoming a spiritual refuge for individuals and families seeking truth, healing, and restoration.
In August 2017, a new chapter began when Apostle Dwight A. Smith was officially installed as Senior Pastor.
With a heart for God and a passion for people, Apostle Smith, alongside Lady Linda Smith, has continued to build upon the strong foundation that was laid before them. Through faithful teaching, prayer, discipleship, and compassionate leadership, they have guided the ministry into a season of continued growth and deeper spiritual impact.
